Sciatica

This term is often used to describe pain, numbness or tingling into the back of the gluteal area, thigh or even down into the back of the calf and bottom of the foot. It is usually associated with irritation to the sciatic nerve at some point in its path whether from a disk herniation, pinching from a vertebrae, or muscle spasm in the back or gluteal area. Manual therapy techniques, exercises, or pelvic traction can often help relieve these.
