Orthopedic Rehabilitation

The keystone of Kapper Physical Therapy is orthopedic rehabilitation. This type of therapy includes care for individuals suffering from the effects of muscle strains or tears, joints sprains or stiffness, back and neck pain, athletic or work injuries, or even pain and dysfunction from arthritis. Each client is thoroughly evaluated for their specific problem and an individualized treatment plan is designed and implemented. At Kapper Physical Therapy we believe in one-on-one care performed by a licensed physical therapist, so there are no hand-offs to less skilled personnel. This ensures better continuity of care, communication, and a more effective, efficient therapy experience.

Our physical therapists are distinguished as specialists with certifications from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) and the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (Certified Hand Therapist). Each specialization requires the performance of numerous hours of clinical work in the area of specialization, the successful completion of a specialty exam, and the maintenance of current knowledge in the area through attending continuing education seminars.

Hand Therapy

Hand injuries present unique challenges during their healing process. Specific knowledge and experience in this area makes having a certified hand therapist (CHT) an essential part of our rehab team. Our Hand Therapy Services include treatment of fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, post-surgical cases, and various disorders of the upper extremity including the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder. Problems that originate in the neck, but cause pain into the upper extremity also can be assessed and treated by our staff. Custom splints are created and fitted on site by our hand therapist.

Industrial Rehabilitation

Our Industrial Medicine program emphasizes early intervention and functional training. We provide one-on-one care for all clients. These intensive treatment sessions allow for the development of focused, individualized programs. An emphasis on progression to functional work simulated tasks allow clients to progress quickly from the injured worker to a safer, stronger employee who is ready to return to work in a shorter number of visits.

Industrial medicine programs include:

  • Post-hire screening
  • Clinical management
  • Work conditioning
  • Functional capacity evaluation

Work Site Assessment

Our therapists are trained to provide on-site work assessments to determine:

  • Critical physical tasks
  • Physical demand analysis
  • Ergonomic recommendations

We also are pleased to assist in Safety Training or other educational programs to limit exposure to injury or accidents on the job.
