Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow also is known as lateral epicondylitis. It is an overuse condition resulting in localized elbow pain. Although it may occur from playing tennis, it often results from performing forceful gripping in a position with the elbow straight and the forearm pronated (palm turned down). Lateral epicondylitis also may develop from prolonged computer activities. Therapy includes education to identify and decrease stressful positioning of the elbow, pain relieving modalities, stretching, and strengthening.
